My Trip to Utah

I know, I know I am WAY behind and writing yesterday's news but I am trying to get caught up here. So... two days after I got to the Hastings' house, I said good-bye to Ryen and Maddie and left for Utah. I wanted to meet the love of Steve's life and although he kept as much as he could a secret from me I could tell that Lauren was something very, very special because the phone would glow when he talked about her. I wanted to keep it a secret from all the Utah family (except Kaleb and Suz) but Steve kept talking about buying tickets for MI so I finally told him. You've heard the story from Suz, but it was pretty funny that Spence ran right by me looking for the bag lady, casually saying hello to me as he passed. Rozlyn was kind of shy to come over at all. Steve and Lauren had much the same reaction, a casual hello as well. But Amber had the best reaction. Not to go on too long about this but I love surprises. Roz brought her to the basement and said it was in there, pointing to a closet. Amber opened the door and screamed. I loved it.


It was a great weekend. I loved seeing everyone so much and was so sad to leave them. Conference was great, I loved seeing Drew and Amber, hanging out with the grandkids, celebrating Roz's birthday, reading and relaxing, talking with Kaleb and Suzanne, playing games, getting kind of loopy and laughing so hard, eating great food. It was so fun and special to meet Lauren and watch how Steve and Lauren interacted. They are so right for each other. I feel like my prayers have been answered as I see each of my children grow up and become such amazing people. I am so blessed to have all their spouses as my daughters and sons and then there are my practically perfect grandchildren. Can't get any better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for a memorable vist! I loved it!~
